The Southern Arizona office of the Arizona Small Business Association (asba) will present a successful local businesswoman with its first ATHENA award on Aug. 26. Nominations can submitted through July 9.

“We are honored and thrilled to have the rights to the ATHENA award program for Southern Arizona because there are so many amazing, accomplished women in business who are deserving of the the recognition,” said Donna Davis, asba CEO and a 2004 ATHENA recipient. “It’s like the ‘Oscars’ for women in business.”

This award will be presented annually to a woman who has achieved excellence in her business profession, has served the community in a meaningful way and has assisted and mentored women in the attainment of professional goals and leadership skills.

Ten finalists will be selected, and the winner will be announced at a luncheon at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort.

The winner will join more than 5,000 individuals who have received the prestigious award since it was first presented in 1982.
